Strahlen.org loves privacy...

What we do not do:
1. We do not run any tracking or statistical software or advertising banners on our website. No Google Analytics, no hidden pixels, no tracking cookies, no ads, nothing. We simply don't want to know what you read...
2. We strongly dislike "social" media, so we have no buttons towards companies like Facebook etc, who are following (and monetizing) your every move on the web with their tracking buttons, tracking cookies, tracking pixels etc.
3. We do nothing “in the cloud” and we run all scripts in our website on our own webserver. So, we are not linking scripts to external Content Delivery Networks.
4. Search engines and bots like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc, cannot see inside our forum. So, the forum content is private and not indexed by search engines. Only these public pages are indexed.

What we do:
5. When you use our forum, you will receive a cookie from the forum software when you login called "StrahlenForum". This cookie only stores that you are logged-in for a pre-set time, and does nothing else. If you don't want to receive that cookie, don't use our forum ;)
6. When you register on our forum, you are volontarily using your own real and full name. Our forum does not allow pseudonyms, as you know... So, the forum software stores your full name and your email address, because you want it to do that. If you don't like that, then don't register on our forum ;) Email addresses are of course not shared with third parties. In your forum profile you can make your email address either visible or hidden for other members. Ca. 2 times per year, we will PM or email you news about our website (never commercial), for which we use either our PM-system, or your email address. In your forum profile you can opt-in or opt-out of news.
7. When you post in our forum, the forum software stores your message (of course), inclusive your current IP-address. We only look at a stored IP-address, if a member is actively abusing our forum. In that case we probably block/delete your account even before you can complain about storing your IP-address. If you don't want your IP-address to be stored, then use a VPN/proxy-server, Tor-browser, or don't use our forum.

For more info: check the detailed "General Data Protection Regulation" (GDPR) or the versions in your language: for Dutch the "Algemene verordening gegevensbescherming" (AVG) and for Germans the "Datenschutz-Grundverordnung" (DSGVO) per 25 may 2018. Our server runs in Germany under German jurisdiction, but of course falls under the EU-GDPR-regulations.
