hi everybody,
a lot of you are accupied to improve the quality of the pictures. It inspired me. So i had to overcome the fear for SLR camera's and decided to go for it.
Now I don't have no idea about photography, so I read a lot of topics from you, and I am impressed and  :-P. because for me all I read is rockitsience to me.
But I want to show my first result. (I bought a canon 450D with kitlens 18-55 mm.)

my avatar was the choosen one for this experimemt

groet van frank.

Frank,

You did fine with the SLR  :-)
Love the detail, love the color, love the rock !!
Just watch the background on your next attempt.

thanks Bill,
About the background. From the experiment I learned that I have to make a new set-up. Something like Vita perhaps. I am now looking for tripod, glass, light and more. I have lack of space, knowlidge, lenses and experience.
But for now I am glad that I was able to connect the camera on the screen and from there do the sharpening. The ligt now was just a LED lamp 12 volts. 1 watt. and flash. To tame the camera has priority at this moment. But background is a major problem for me now.

Bill thanks for your comment.

He Manders,

I knew, somewhere in Geijsteren lives a photographer with guts.
Very nice picture of a wonderful agate.

And ................., use on a distance of at least 15 cm a black T-shirt as background.

My compliments.

A very nice little one from the fields near Berschweiler bei Kirn, found last summer.
Cut, grind and polished by Wim Buyk.

Size:  29 x 38 x 41 mm.

Hi Harry
Very nice piece with an interesting failure in color banding.

My friend Josef Hanus
be a little more practice with the computer and now I can not advise him on the phone
so he sent me pictures of my desire is for him to put here Strahlen.
Note that he can not say much with a computer, but his photographs are excellent  8-) .
Agate photographed with flash and create your own individual process. Everything is shot on a crushed - one hand holding the camera and the second Agate - amazing!
