When I was in Binn for the first time in 1985, on the camping site, I saw someone hanging with a rope in the walls of the Flüetosse. He descended and rappeled up again, multiple times, along the wall from left to right... I was 15, and of course I was very impressed... When he came back to the camping site, he showed me beautiful Quarz-xx he found in cavities in the wall. He called those cavities "klüfte" ('fissures') and he explained me what they were. That was my first experience with strahlers; the first time I saw a Quarz-crystal, freshly found from a Kluft...

The walls of the Flüetosse are the same as in the Fäldbachtal and are Bündnerschiefer. So you can find the same here as in the Fäldbachtal, Figgerschen Schlucht etc. The walls are easy to reach from the camping site, but please please do not cross the fields when there's grass on the field, because the farmers still want to use the grass. Please only go to the walls through the 'Schlucht' on the right side of the Flüetosse-wall. There's a small river flowing there through which you can ascend and reach the wall.

In the many years that I have been looking for minerals here I have found waterclear Quarz-xx on matrix to 4 cm long, Rutil-xx to 1,5 cm, also in knee-twins with Calcit-xx, Siderit-xx, weisser und grüner Muskowit, Albit-xx and Pyrit-xx. And if you don't find any minerals, just enjoy the flowers, the butterflies etc... And if you don't like that, just lay back in the sun and enjoy the thousands of grasshoppers here jumping you :-)
