We visited the Wannigletscher every year from 1993 to 2005. We also camped there, under summerhot and snowy conditions, and always found something...
If you try hard enough, you will always go home with a nice sample of Cafarsit, Synchisit, Hematit, Anatas etc.
It's a very nice area to camp and look for minerals. But... it can be dangerous: always camp where you're safe against avalaunches and rockslides... and always take your trash down to the valley!!

We're laughing, because we were trapped for about a week in the snow in our tent at the Wannigletscher, and finaly the bad weather broke, and we were able to go down again ;-)
