This quarry which once delivered superb Baryt and Kongsbergit specimens, has now closed working... The lower level (which originally contained layers with Silver/Kongsbergit and Chlorargyrit is already under water. We only found a few blocks left containing an interesting mineralisation. Two blocks lower in the quarry and all the other material above the quarry on the dumps. These blocks contained museum-quality waterclear Baryt-xx! Very rarely also with some Hematit-xx? Small reddishblack rosettes like you usually also find on the Clara dumps on the Fluorit and Baryt, but here as rosettes with a white coating of very small white silky needles... But the Baryt is superb, we were very happy with our specimens, but because we were by airplane and because Baryt is quite heavy (;-) we only took a few specimens with us... As micromounts these waterclear Barytes really stand out, hopefully we will be able to take some pictures soon...

Other people that visited the locality found bariet / fluoriet / sideriet / chalcopyriet / malachiet.
