In april 2008 we were invited by the CTT to spend almost a week in the region. Not for mineral collecting, but for business. When we had some time left, we also visited some interesting spots in the mining region along the road from Bou Azzer to Bleida. We also were able to visit Ait Ahmane filon 52 (only) once in that week, but next time we will spend more time here... Begin your tour here to see what we found.

This is a place where we should have spent some more time, but we did not have that time (this time ;-)
Driving here really needs a 4x4 and spare tires... You don't want to get stuck here with a not-working-car in the sun...
The ore-vein is quite easy to reach here, and contains interesting minerals. We took some samples or probably rammelsbergite, safflorite and erythrite.

And on we go into the wilderness... With a 4x4 you can drive on to the Ait Ahmane filon 53-section :-)

It is not allowed to look for minerals on this dump... You have to ask permission first at the head-office. And even when you have that permission, always politely also ask permission at the local mine shift-leader and show your permit! Because the local miners are also responsible for the safety in their mine.
