In april 2008 we were invited by the CTT to spend almost a week in the region. Not for mineral collecting, but for business. When we had some time left, we also visited some interesting spots in the mining region along the road from Bou Azzer to Bleida. We also were able to visit Mechoui once that week. Begin your tour here to see what we found.
The Mechoui mine is not producing since some time now, so we walked the dumps to shoot some pictures. Ludger even walked up to another mine further down a valley and up a hill, but nothing there... I picked up a larger piece of massive lollingite from the dumps, but that was it. The nature and geological formations around this locality are beautiful though...
