What to say? Yes, Manhattan is a mineral locality... Strange but very true!
In the early days of building the subways and skyscrapers, on building the City, a lot of fabulous finds were done...
But also in more recent years interesting finds were done. See the article by John Betts below!

(of course it is not allowed to hammer around in Central Park... this is just a page illustrative of earlier finds in Manhattan ;-)
