The Galleria Henry was the most important structure of the Planu Sartu zinc mine in Buggerru. The construction of the tunnel dates back to 1865 by the franco-belgian company Société Anonyme des Mines de Malfidano at the time owner of the mine. The tunnel was built to allow a steam train to transport minerals (carriage tunnel) along a narrow gauge Decauville railway from exploitation sites to the washing plants. About 1 km long and located at an altitude of 50 m a.s.l., it follows the profile of the cliff S of Buggerru, under the Planu Sartu plateau characterized by the large open-pit mining excavation. The tunnel route represents the so-called "mineral route", from the mine to the Buggerru plants, and also the passage of drinking water pipes for the village of Planu Sartu mine. The Galleria Henry can be visited by reservation and allows you to cross the miners' workplace, admiring from time to time an extraordinary landscape that alternates the sea with the Lower Cambrian (Lower Paleozoic) carbonatic rocks of the cliff.

Miniera di Planu Sartu - Galleria Henry – Buggerru
Mina Malfidano - Nanni Frau
